Kadu is an instant messenger for the Gadu-Gadu and XMPP networks.
Upstream stopped in 2017 on Qt5; this package builds a fork carrying a
Qt6 port that is still in progress. The port has been offered upstream
as a pull request, but with upstream inactive it is maintained as a
separate fork. The chat view, which was written directly against
QtWebKit, now runs on QtWebEngine.
X11 is gone: window management, idle detection and screenshots go
through Wayland, KDE Frameworks and the desktop portal. Two things went
with X11 because a Wayland client may not do them: moving a window
between virtual desktops, and holding notifications back while another
application is fullscreen.
